Privacy Policy

Majorbound is designed to work without a Majorbound account. Most of your journey data stays on your device.
Information stored on your device
Majorbound stores the profile and journey information you enter locally on your device. This can include:
- first name
- date of birth
- country of residence
- qualification category
- marathon personal best
- races you have completed
- races you have entered
- races you are pursuing
- charity or tour-operator preferences
- unit preferences
- an optional profile photo
Majorbound does not transmit this local runner profile to Majorbound servers.
Optional Strava connection
If you choose to connect Strava, Majorbound uses Strava OAuth to obtain permission to read the activity information needed for the feature.
Majorbound stores an installation-scoped connection credential and encrypted Strava authorization credentials on its server so the connection can continue to work.
Majorbound processes recent Strava activity information to show lightweight running context and identify possible marathon-distance activities for you to confirm.
Majorbound does not use Strava data for advertising or tracking and does not persist your full Strava activity history.
When you disconnect Strava, Majorbound revokes its Strava authorization and deletes the Majorbound-controlled connection record for that installation.
Race information
Majorbound includes race dates, entry routes, qualification information, course information and links to race-organizer websites.
This information is provided as a planning aid and may change. Always confirm final requirements, deadlines and instructions with the relevant race organizer.
Service providers
Majorbound uses infrastructure and database service providers to operate the optional Strava connection and related backend services. These providers may process technical information as necessary to provide those services.
Advertising and tracking
Majorbound does not contain third-party advertising and does not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Data retention and deletion
Your local Majorbound profile remains on your device until you reset Majorbound data or remove the app.
If you connect Strava, the server-side connection remains until you disconnect Strava, revoke Majorbound access through Strava, or reset Majorbound data.
Your choices
You can use Majorbound without connecting Strava. You can disconnect Strava at any time. You can also use Reset Majorbound Data in Settings to clear Majorbound-controlled journey data for the installation.
Children
Majorbound is intended for people planning participation in marathon events and is not directed to children under 13.
Independent service
Majorbound is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Abbott World Marathon Majors, the individual race organizers, or Strava.
